- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp granulated sugar
Instructions:
- In a medium glass mixing bowl, whisk together the tomato sauce and tomato paste until the mixture is thick, smooth, and free of lumps.
- Drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil and add the oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and sugar.
- Crush the dried herbs between your palms as you add them to the bowl to release their aromatic oils.
- Whisk thoroughly to emulsify the oil into the tomato base.
- Let the sauce rest at room temperature for at least 10 minutes before using to allow the dried spices to rehydrate and infuse the sauce.
