Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup fresh mint leaves, packed
- 1 cup bourbon
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 4 cups crushed ice
- Fresh mint sprigs for garnish
Instructions:
- Combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- Remove from heat, stir in the packed mint leaves, and let the mixture steep for 20 minutes.
- Strain the mint leaves from the syrup and chill the syrup in the refrigerator.
- Pour the chilled mint syrup, bourbon, and lemon juice into a high-speed blender and pulse three times to combine.
- Add the crushed ice in two batches, blending on high until the mixture reaches a thick, frosty consistency.
- Pour into chilled glasses or silver julep cups and garnish with a fresh mint sprig and a lemon wheel.
