Ingredients:
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 lb spaghetti noodles
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the lean ground beef with diced onions until the meat is mahogany-colored. Stir in minced garlic for 1 minute.
- Pour in the marinara and oregano. Let it simmer for 5 minutes until thickened.
- Cook spaghetti in salted water for 2 minutes less than the package instructions. Drain and toss immediately with melted butter to prevent sticking.
- Spread half of the buttered spaghetti evenly across the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Spoon half of the meat sauce over the noodles, spreading it to the edges.
- In a bowl, whip the softened cream cheese, sour cream, parmesan, and garlic powder until smooth. Spread this mixture over the sauce.
- Layer the remaining spaghetti, then the remaining meat sauce.
- Smother the top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes.
- Optional: Broil for 2–3 minutes until the cheese develops a golden-brown crust.
