Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 4 store bought flatbreads
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, combine the tomato paste, 1 tbsp olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, and salt. Stir vigorously until the mixture is smooth and velvety.
  2. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Brush the top of each flatbread lightly with 2 tbsp olive oil and place in the oven for 2 minutes until the edges feel firm.
  4. Remove flatbreads and spread 2 tbsp of the prepared sauce on each, leaving a 1/2 inch border around the edge.
  5. Evenly distribute the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and has developed small, golden-brown charred spots.
  7. Remove from oven and immediately top with fresh basil leaves.
