Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking powder
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- ¾ cup (180ml) warm water
- 2 tbsp (30ml) olive oil
- ½ cup (120ml) thick pizza sauce
- 2 cups (225g) shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup (25g) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tbsp (15ml) extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp (2g) dried oregano
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the warm water and 2 tbsp of olive oil until a shaggy dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for 2 minutes until smooth but soft, then divide into two equal balls.
- Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll each dough ball into an oval shape, approximately ¼ inch (6mm) thick.
- Brush the edges of the dough with olive oil. Spread ¼ cup of sauce over each base, leaving a ½ inch border. Top evenly with mozzarella, Parmesan, and dried oregano.
- Bake on the center rack for 10–12 minutes until the edges are deep golden brown and the cheese is bubbling with occasional charred spots.
